We were sitting outside on the back porch, enjoying the sunrise this morning.  As usual, our large dog was walking around “self-petting” under S’s legs, and, in the process stepping all over S’s feet.  M was looking on, chatting with us.

S:  “Will, why do you insist on walking on bare feet?”

M:  “Because Will’s a dog!  Dogs can’t wear shoes, so they have to go bare feet!”
