We were blessed to acquire Faith as a doeling in the fall of 2011.  She is a beautiful doe, out of one of the top dairy and show lines in the state of Colorado (Mamm-Key).  Her lines are full of production genetics, including multi-* milkers.  Her dam was reserve grand champion of show in 2010, with proven quality blood lines such as Redwood Hills, Rancho-Snowfall, and Jailhaus, and her sire’s line has finished champions and reserve champions, as well as high placings in the national competitions.  She produced a beautiful doeling this spring, and peaked at about 6.5 lbs. of milk with her first freshening, and has beautiful teats for hand milking.

We purchased Latte in the spring of 2012, as a 2-year-old, 2nd freshener, Alpine doe from beautiful lines.  Many does and bucks in her lineage, have won a number of championships and/or earned milking stars.   Her confirmation is beautiful, long, and slender, with a decently-attached udder, big teats for hand-milking, and genetics focused on production and breed characteristics.  She peaks just over 12 lbs. of production, and continues that level for almost 2 straight months!  Surprisingly, she also turned out to be a fairly easy keeper despite her output.  She has also shown signs that she may be capable of milking through multiple years without re-freshening, making her a perfect goat for the efficient homestead.

Joy was the first purebred Alpine doeling born on our farm, and the first of our kids we kept.  Her conformation is exactly what we hoped for, with a slightly thicker and stockier build than her dam, yet still maintaining the overall feminine appearance.  She freshened for the first time this year, peaking over 8 lbs, and has the best udder of any doe we’ve ever owned.  She is also our most well-mannered doe on the milk stand, earning her a long-term place on our farm and in our breeding program.

Color:  Pied

Caramel was part of a set of twin doelings born spring 2013.  She is petite, and very dainty and feminine.  She shows good conformation so far, with good rumen development, nice head, and a long, slender body like her dam.  We are watching her  to see if she grows out like we aim for, and are still considering whether to add her to our breeding program this fall.

We are striving to develop our herd with an emphasis on purebreds that are good representatives of breed standards, hardiness, good conformation, easy freshening, and excellent milk production, such that our goats and their offspring will be well suited for both the homestead and the show ring.  As a result, we are thrilled to have these girls as our Alpine herd does!
